Why Choose Quartz Countertops for Your Cincinnati Kitchen?

Installing new quartz countertops is a great choice as part of your kitchen remodel. Here's an overview of some of the benefits of this countertop material:

  • Exceptionally durable.
  • Stain resistant (liquid cannot penetrate the nonporous surface).
  • Doesn't require resealing.
  • Scratch resistant.
  • Doesn't harbor bacteria.
  • Eco-friendly.

Note: Although hard and durable, do not place hot pans directly on quartz. Extreme heat may damage or discolor the resins used to bind the quartz together.

Quartz Countertops Offer the Brightest Whites!

Quartz is manufactured in a wide range of colors, ranging from solid patterns to a marble polish or natural stone. If you love the look of a dazzling white countertop (which is popular these days), quartz is the material for you. You can't get bright whites in granite.

Make a Small Kitchen Look Bigger and Brighter with White Quartz

If your kitchen feels small or dark, the brilliance of white quartz is the perfect choice. Your space will appear larger, clean and modern, and provide a neutral backdrop for your favorite accent colors.

Installing white quartz counters in a kitchen with limited natural light also captures reflected light. Your kitchen space looks brighter and more inviting without the need for additional windows or skylights.

Quartz vs. Granite

The choice between quartz vs. granite often comes down to appearance - which one you like best. Prices for quartz countertops are comparable to midrange granite.

More Advantages of Manufactured Quartz and Quartzite

  1. Easy to Match and Less Visible Seams

Quartz and quartzite countertop manufacturers control the color palette and texture, producing consistency. This means easy matching from one slab to the next.

Countertop slabs may need to be joined to fit lengthy areas. Seams will be visible in most countertop materials from granite and quartz to porcelain. Your fabricator will communicate seam locations for the best appearance and matching resin glue colors will help them blend in.

  2. Environmentally Friendly

Did you know quartz countertops and quartzite countertops help reduce mining waste? Creating them is an eco-friendly way to use leftover materials from gold and other mines.

No mining operations exist solely to manufacture quartz and quartzite countertops. So, if environmental conservation is important to you, quartz may be the perfect countertop choice!

Manufacturing Quartzite and Quartz Countertops

Manufacturers create quartz countertops by crushing the hard, natural, almost colorless quartz crystals. To produce different textures and patterns, the quartz is ground as fine as sand or as coarse as gravel.

Next, the manufacturer mixes the crushed quartz with binders and other minerals. These form the variety of colors and patterns we see. They add a binding resin, pour the mixture into molds, fuse it together with high heat and polish it smooth. Now, the slabs are ready to turn into tremendously durable and gorgeous countertops.

Quartzite countertops are a similar product that uses quartzite rock as its base material.

Tip: Some manufacturers even make kitchen and bathroom sinks out these materials, so you may find the perfect one to coordinate with your new countertops.
